Dear speaking God,
may we never cease to be astonished at the many ways you have spoken,
first in many and various ways through the prophets,
but now in these last days you spoke in the most eloquent way,
your speech brought your Son into our sin-broken world.
Words fail us to describe Christ’s surpassing excellence:
heir of all things,
creator of the world,
reflecting God’s glory
the exact imprint of God’s being,
the one who sustains all things by his Word,
he made purification for sins,
honoured to be seated at God’s right hand,
superior to the angels
named by the most excellent name.
Glory to you, Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
